For Cultured Magazine's 2025 CULT100 issue, I worked production assistance on the shoot and feature for artist Anne Imhof, timed to the debut of her three-hour performance piece DOOM at the Park Avenue Armory. The shoot featured multiple full looks by Saint Laurent, Loewe, and Balenciaga, shot on location at the Armory.
My Role
Managed on-set logistics across multiple wardrobe changes to keep the shoot on schedule
Supported hair, makeup, and styling turnarounds between looks
Coordinated with the wider production team to keep transitions between setups tight
Helped maintain a calm, organized set despite a compressed production window
How I Handled It
Worked with the hair, makeup, and styling teams to sequence each look so transitions could start the moment the previous one wrapped, rather than resetting from scratch each time
Kept a running clock on each 30-minute hair and makeup window and flagged early if a look was running long, so adjustments could happen before time was lost
Prepped wardrobe and accessories for each upcoming look in advance, so styling could move the moment hair and makeup finished
Kept communication tight across the team throughout, so everyone knew which look was next and how much time was left
The Challenge
The shoot called for three full looks, each requiring a fresh hair and makeup pass, to be completed within a couple of hours — with only 30 minutes allotted for hair and makeup per look. That left almost no room for delay anywhere in the chain: any slowdown in styling, hair, or makeup for one look would eat directly into the time available for the next.
The Result
All three looks were completed within the compressed window, and the shoot ran on schedule. The feature ran in Cultured's 2025 CULT100 issue alongside the Imhof interview.
